What Is a Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder?
The Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder is designed to remove compacted soil and similar laboratory specimens from moulds or sample tubes in a controlled manner. The hydraulic mechanism applies a steady extrusion force, reducing the need for manual impact or uncontrolled mechanical removal.
Specimen extraction is an important stage in soil-testing workflows. Compacted samples produced during Proctor, CBR and related laboratory procedures may need to be removed from their moulds before further examination or disposal.
The LT-S0120 Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder provides a practical solution for this process.
60 kN Hydraulic Extrusion Force
The LT-S0120 provides a maximum extrusion force of 60 kN.
Its horizontal configuration allows the mould and specimen to be positioned along the extrusion axis. Once the appropriate adaptor is installed, the hydraulic mechanism pushes the specimen through the mould in a controlled direction.
This arrangement helps reduce sudden loads on the sample and makes removal of densely compacted specimens easier.
650 mm Maximum Stroke
The hydraulic system provides a maximum working stroke of 650 mm.
The extended stroke allows the machine to accommodate different mould and sample lengths. Liya Test specifies a nominal working range for specimens between Ø35 and Ø101.6 mm.
An adjustable specimen-receiving table supports the sample as it exits the mould. The table can also be lowered to suit different working arrangements.
Standard Ø38 and Ø100 mm Adaptors
The machine is supplied with the required ring and tamper adaptors for Ø38 mm and Ø100 mm specimens.
These accessories allow the LT-S0120 to support commonly used laboratory specimen dimensions without requiring additional equipment.
Liya Test also lists Ø50 mm, Ø70 mm and Ø150 mm adaptors as separately ordered accessories.
Laboratory Applications
The Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder can support specimen preparation associated with soil compaction, CBR and related laboratory procedures.
The product page references TS EN 13286-2, EN 13286-47, EN 12697-30, AASHTO T134, T180, T193 and T245, together with various ASTM and BS methods. These references represent laboratory procedures in which moulded or compacted specimens may require controlled removal.
LT-S0120 Technical Construction
The machine has external dimensions of approximately 65 × 175 × 75 cm and weighs approximately 150 kg.
Its electrical requirement is listed as 220 V, 50–60 Hz.
Overall, the LT-S0120 Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder combines 60 kN hydraulic force, a 650 mm stroke and interchangeable adaptors to provide controlled specimen removal for soil-mechanics and quality-control laboratories.
