What Is a Four-Column Automatic Concrete Compression Testing Machine?
The Automatic Concrete Compression Tester is designed to determine the compressive strength of hardened concrete specimens. The machine applies load at a controlled rate and records the maximum force reached when the specimen fails.
The product family offers 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 kN capacity options. This wide range allows laboratories to test both conventional and high-strength concrete specimens.
Its rigid four-column loading frame provides a stable working structure under high loads. This construction helps transfer the applied force to the specimen in a controlled and consistent manner.
Automatic Hydraulic Loading System
The machine operates with an automatic hydraulic power system.
During the initial stage, the hydraulic system moves the piston rapidly toward the specimen. Once contact is established, the machine automatically switches to the programmed testing rate.
The radial piston pump then increases the load in a controlled manner. The operator can select the appropriate loading rate according to the specimen type and test requirements.
When the concrete specimen fails, the test cycle stops automatically. This reduces operator influence and improves repeatability between successive tests.
7-Inch Touchscreen Control
The control system features a 7-inch TFT touchscreen.
The operator can enter specimen information and test parameters directly from the display. During testing, the screen shows the applied load, loading rate and real-time load-time graph.
The digital system also records the maximum load reached during specimen failure.
Test results can be transferred to PC software for storage, review and reporting. This allows laboratories to compare different concrete mixtures, production batches and testing periods.
Hardened Compression Platens
The upper and lower compression platens are manufactured from high-quality steel.
The platen surfaces are hardened to approximately 55–60 HRC and finished to a surface roughness of 3.2 µm or less.
This precise surface finish supports uniform transfer of compressive force to the concrete specimen.
Depending on the model configuration, different platen dimensions are available for EN and ASTM testing applications.
2000–5000 kN Capacity Range
The LT-C0250 provides 2000 kN maximum capacity.
The LT-C0350 increases the testing capacity to 3000 kN, while the LT-C0450 supports loads up to 4000 kN.
For the highest-capacity applications, the LT-C0550 provides a maximum testing force of 5000 kN.
All four configurations use a rigid four-column structure, while frame dimensions and piston sizes increase according to the required test capacity.
High-Capacity Hydraulic System
The machines operate with a maximum hydraulic working pressure of approximately 410 bar.
Each configuration uses a 25 L hydraulic oil reservoir and a 750 W motor.
The piston stroke is 5 cm across the four main configurations.
Different piston diameters are used according to machine capacity, ranging from 25 cm on the 2000 kN model to 41 cm on the 5000 kN model.
Different Concrete Specimen Options
The system can test concrete cubes, cylinders and similar hardened concrete specimens when fitted with the appropriate compression platens.
Optional sliding block platens can expand the application range to concrete blocks, bricks and similar masonry products.
Distance pieces can also reduce the vertical clearance when smaller specimens are tested. This helps position the specimen correctly between the compression platens.
Advanced Safety Features
The Automatic Concrete Compression Testing Machine incorporates several systems to support safe operation.
An emergency stop button allows the operator to stop the machine immediately when required.
A piston limit switch restricts excessive piston movement, while the maximum pressure valve protects the hydraulic system against overload.
Front and rear protective doors also help contain fragments that may be released during specimen failure.
Testing According to International Standards
EN 12390-3 covers the determination of compressive strength of hardened concrete specimens.
EN 12390-4 specifies performance requirements for compression testing machines used for concrete testing.
The product group also references ASTM C39/C39M, BS 1881 and GOST 10180-2012 for related concrete compression testing applications.
Reliable High-Capacity Concrete Testing
The Four-Column Automatic Concrete Compression Testing Machine combines high loading capacity, automatic hydraulic control and digital data management.
With models ranging from 2000 kN to 5000 kN, the system supports demanding concrete testing applications in quality-control laboratories, universities, construction-material facilities and research centres.
Its rigid frame, hardened loading platens and programmable test control provide a professional platform for repeatable and controlled concrete compressive strength testing.
