LT-AS1520    Depot Tray Test Set

    PRODUCT DETAILS

The Depot Tray Test Set determines the transverse uniformity and accuracy of binder distribution from bituminous binder sprayers. A wheeled trolley positions a series of collection containers beneath the spray bar, allowing laboratories and field teams to evaluate binder distribution across the effective spraying width.

    • 68 collection containers: The system collects sprayed binder at closely spaced positions across the spray width.
    • 50 mm evaluation intervals: Results are evaluated over 50 mm units across the effective spraying width.
    • Transverse distribution analysis: Helps identify over-application and under-application areas along the spray bar.
    • Wheeled trolley system: Allows the collection assembly to be moved easily beneath the distributor spray bar.
    • Direct depth measurement: Binder depth in each container can be measured after spraying.
    • Distribution uniformity assessment: Results can be expressed as percentage deviation from the mean distribution.
    • Field and depot applications: Suitable for binder distributors used for road surface dressing, bond coats, seals and related spraying operations.
    • Robust construction: Designed for demanding road and field quality control work.
    • Complete test configuration: Supplied with the wheeled trolley and collection containers.
    • Standards compliance: Supports binder sprayer distribution accuracy testing according to BS 1707:2018.

    Description

What Is a Depot Tray Test Set?

The Depot Tray Test Set is designed to determine the transverse uniformity of binder distribution produced by bituminous binder sprayers. The system evaluates how evenly binder is applied across the effective width of the spray bar.

Uniform binder distribution is important during road surface dressing, bond coat, sealing and similar spraying applications. Excessive binder in one area and insufficient binder in another can reduce application quality. Therefore, distribution testing helps operators identify spray bar irregularities before or during field operations.

Liya Test supplies the LT-AS1520 Depot Tray Test Set with a wheeled trolley and 68 collection containers.

    Wheeled Collection System

The equipment uses a mobile trolley designed to move beneath the distributor spray bar. The operator positions the trolley and containers across the spraying area before starting the test.

During operation, sprayed binder falls directly into the individual collection containers. Once sufficient material has been collected, the trolley is withdrawn from beneath the spray system.

This arrangement allows the distribution pattern to be evaluated across the complete effective spray width.

    68 Binder Collection Containers

The LT-AS1520 is supplied with 68 individual collection containers. These containers are positioned side by side to capture binder at different points across the spray width.

After spraying, the operator measures the binder depth in each container. This makes it possible to identify sections where binder delivery is higher or lower than the average.

The large number of collection points provides detailed information about the transverse performance of the spray bar.

    Analysis at 50 mm Intervals

Test results are evaluated over 50 mm units along the effective spraying width. The collected measurements can then be compared with the mean binder depth.

Results may be expressed as a percentage deviation from the mean value. This approach makes variations across the spray bar easier to identify and compare.

    Binder Sprayer Quality Control

The Depot Tray Test Set can help road contractors, binder distributor manufacturers and quality control teams evaluate spraying performance.

Testing can identify nozzle or spray-bar sections that produce uneven distribution. Operators can then investigate equipment adjustment, cleaning or maintenance requirements before continuing road application.

The system is especially useful for road surface dressing, bond coats, seals, preservatives and other binder spraying processes covered by the applicable test method.

    Robust Field Test Configuration

The LT-AS1520 has overall dimensions of approximately 370 × 110 × 25 cm and weighs approximately 250 kg. Its substantial construction provides a stable platform for field and depot testing.

The trolley configuration also reduces the need to manually position individual collection containers beneath the spray system. This improves test preparation and allows the collection assembly to remain aligned during operation.

    Testing According to BS 1707:2018

The Depot Tray Test Set supports testing according to BS 1707:2018. The current standard specifies a method for evaluating the accuracy of binder spread from bituminous binder sprayers. It applies to equipment used for road surface dressing, bond coats, seals, preservatives and other spray applications.

Overall, the LT-AS1520 Depot Tray Test Set combines a mobile trolley, 68 collection containers and detailed transverse distribution analysis. Therefore, road laboratories and field quality control teams can evaluate binder sprayer performance under controlled and comparable conditions.
