Automatic Blaine Apparatus for Cement Fineness Testing
The Automatic Blaine Apparatus determines the specific surface area of cement and suitable powder materials using the air-permeability principle. During the test, air passes through a prepared compacted sample bed. The system measures the corresponding flow time and uses the test parameters to calculate the Blaine fineness value.
Specific surface area provides useful information about cement fineness. It is therefore an important parameter for production control and comparison of different cement batches.
Automatic Air-Permeability Measurement
The operator first prepares the cement sample in the measuring cell. Filter paper and the appropriate tamping components help create a consistent specimen bed.
Once the test begins, the apparatus controls the measurement automatically. Sensors monitor the air-flow process and determine the required time without manual stopwatch operation.
The microprocessor then evaluates the measured data and calculates the specific surface area.
Microprocessor-Controlled Operation
The integrated control system manages the main stages of the test. The operator enters the required sample and calibration information before measurement.
After testing, the apparatus calculates the Blaine value automatically. This reduces manual calculation steps and helps limit operator-related differences between successive measurements.
One or Two Measuring Cells
The system can be configured with one or two measuring cells. A single-cell version is suitable for routine quality-control work.
The dual-cell configuration provides additional flexibility for laboratories with higher testing volumes. For example, a reference cement and a production sample can be prepared for more efficient comparative testing.
Automatic Result Recording
The apparatus processes the measured flow time together with the necessary calibration data. The calculated result can then be displayed and recorded.
An integrated printer supports direct documentation of test results. This feature helps laboratories maintain organized quality-control records.
Calibration Sand
Liya Test lists LT-CE0006 Calibration Sand for the system. It is supplied as two 100 ml bottles and is used during calibration and reference procedures.
Correct calibration is essential because the Blaine method is comparative. Therefore, the operator should follow the applicable standard procedure when determining or checking the apparatus constant.
EN 196-6, ASTM C204 and AASHTO T153
The Automatic Blaine Apparatus supports fineness testing according to EN 196-6, ASTM C204 and AASHTO T153. Liya’s current English product listing specifies these three standards for the LT-CE0010 system.
As a result, the Automatic Blaine Apparatus combines automatic air-flow measurement, microprocessor calculation and flexible measuring-cell options for fast and repeatable cement fineness testing.
