Tensile Adhesion Strength Test Apparatus is designed to determine the tensile adhesion strength of cementitious mortars, rendering and plastering mortars, and cementitious tile adhesives. The apparatus applies a controlled tensile load perpendicular to the specimen surface and measures the maximum pull-off force with a 5 kN load cell. Different pull-head plates and ring accessories allow the system to be adapted to various specimen geometries and test methods.

Adhesion Test Apparatus for Mortar and Tile Adhesive Testing
The Adhesion Test Apparatus determines the tensile adhesion strength of cementitious mortars, rendering materials and suitable ceramic tile adhesives. The system applies a controlled tensile force perpendicular to the prepared test surface. A 5 kN load cell continuously measures the applied force until failure occurs.
The result helps laboratories compare different formulations and production batches. In addition to the numerical strength value, the failure surface can also provide useful information about the location and type of bond failure.
5 kN Tensile Load Measurement
The LT-CE0101 apparatus is supplied with a 5 kN load cell. The load cell measures the tensile force throughout the test and records the maximum force reached before separation.
The apparatus is designed to be installed on a compatible LİYA compression or compression/tension testing machine. Liya specifies that the load-cell assembly should be installed at the factory to ensure correct mechanical integration.
50 × 50 mm Pull-Head Plates
The LT-CE0102 Pull-Headed Plate Set contains six metal plates. Each plate measures 50 × 50 mm and has a thickness of 10 mm.
These plates are used for tensile adhesion testing of cementitious tile adhesives. The plate is bonded to the prepared specimen surface using a suitable adhesive. After curing, the testing machine applies a tensile force perpendicular to the surface.
Ø50 mm Stainless Steel Pull Plates
For rendering and plastering mortar applications, the LT-CE0103 set provides six stainless steel pull-head plates.
Each plate has a diameter of 50 mm and a thickness of 20 mm. The stainless steel construction provides good resistance to moisture and repeated laboratory use.
Frusto-Conical Shaped Ring
The LT-CE0104 Frusto-Conical Shaped Ring has a diameter of 50 mm and is manufactured from stainless steel.
The ring helps define and prepare the test area before pull-off testing. Correct specimen preparation is important because irregular test areas or poor plate bonding can influence the measured adhesion strength.
EN 1015-12 Mortar Adhesion Testing
EN 1015-12:2016 specifies a method for determining the adhesive strength of hardened rendering and plastering mortars on substrates. The test applies a tensile load perpendicular to a defined test area until failure occurs.
The measured failure load is evaluated together with the test area to determine adhesion strength.
EN 12004-2 Tile Adhesive Testing
For cementitious ceramic tile adhesives, EN 12004-2:2017 contains the current tensile adhesion strength test method. It replaced the former EN 1348:2007 standard.
As a result, the Adhesion Test Apparatus combines a sensitive 5 kN load cell, interchangeable pull-head plates and dedicated specimen accessories for repeatable mortar and tile adhesive testing.
