Mechanical Balances for Precision Laboratory Weighing
Mechanical Balances provide accurate mass measurement without requiring electricity or electronic weighing components. The product range includes the Cent-O-Gram 311 g and Dial-O-Gram 310 g configurations, both providing 0.01 g readability for precise laboratory weighing.
Their mechanical construction makes them suitable for laboratories, educational environments and work areas where a simple and reliable weighing system is preferred.
310 and 311 g Capacity Options
The LT-G4000 Cent-O-Gram Mechanical Balance provides a maximum weighing capacity of 311 g.
The LT-G4001 Dial-O-Gram Mechanical Balance provides a maximum capacity of 310 g.
Both models offer 0.01 g readability, allowing small differences in specimen mass to be observed accurately. This makes the balances suitable for routine laboratory samples, powders and other lightweight materials.
Cent-O-Gram and Dial-O-Gram Systems
The Cent-O-Gram model uses a traditional beam-based weighing mechanism. Sliding poises are adjusted until the beam reaches its balanced position.
The Dial-O-Gram model adds a Vernier dial, reducing the amount of manual poise movement required during fine measurement. OHAUS specifically identifies the dial system as a time-saving feature of the 310 model.
Magnetic Damping for Faster Results
Mechanical balances naturally oscillate after a specimen is placed on the pan. The integrated magnetic damping system reduces this movement and allows the beam to stabilize more quickly.
A self-aligning beam design also supports reliable weighing. In addition, the three-point mechanical arrangement reduces the need for repeated level adjustments during routine use.
Stainless Steel Removable Pan
Both balances use a removable stainless steel weighing pan measuring approximately Ø89 × 13 mm.
The stainless steel surface is durable and easy to clean after weighing powders or granular materials. The removable construction also simplifies routine maintenance.
No Electrical Power Required
Unlike electronic laboratory balances, these models require no power supply. All measurement is performed through the mechanical beam, poise and balance system.
This makes the balances useful for mobile laboratories, educational facilities and locations where access to electrical power may be limited.
As a result, Mechanical Balances combine 0.01 g readability, magnetic damping, stainless steel weighing pans and fully mechanical operation in a compact and dependable weighing solution.
