What Is a Vibratory Disc Mill?
The Vibratory Disc Mill rapidly grinds medium-hard, hard, brittle and tough materials before laboratory analysis. It is suitable for sample preparation in mining, mineral processing, construction materials and industrial laboratories.
Typical applications include alloys, basalt, cement clinker, ceramics, coal, coke, feldspar, glass and similar materials. The LT-A0071 Vibratory Disc Mill uses an intensive vibration mechanism to apply impact and friction forces to the sample inside a closed grinding jar.
Rapid Sample Grinding
The instrument accepts material within an approximate feed-size range of 0.075–5 mm. Grinding time generally varies between 1 and 10 minutes depending on sample type, hardness and initial particle size.
The closed grinding system helps minimise material loss during operation. However, Liya Test does not publish one fixed final particle size for every material. Therefore, laboratories should determine the appropriate grinding time experimentally according to the required analytical preparation.
Pneumatic Grinding Jar Clamping
The grinding jar is secured inside the machine using a pneumatic air-bellows system. This arrangement keeps the jar firmly positioned during intensive vibration.
Once the jar is installed, the operator closes the protective cabinet and sets the required grinding time. The pneumatic system supports stable operation while reducing the need for manual mechanical clamping.
An external air compressor must be ordered separately.
50–800 cc Grinding Jar Options
The LT-A0071 supports grinding jars with capacities of 50, 100, 250 and 800 cc. This range allows laboratories to select the appropriate jar according to sample quantity and preparation requirements.
The smaller jars are suitable for routine analytical samples, while larger capacities provide additional flexibility for higher sample volumes.
The jars can also be removed easily after grinding. This simplifies sample collection and cleaning between different materials.
Safety and Automatic Protection
The Vibratory Disc Mill includes an adjustable timer and a protective cabinet around the moving grinding mechanism.
A door safety switch prevents unsafe operation. The machine also stops automatically if the cabinet door is opened or pneumatic pressure falls below the required operating level. These functions support safer and more controlled laboratory operation.
Heavy-Duty Laboratory Construction
The LT-A0071 measures approximately 100 × 75 × 130 cm and weighs about 250 kg. It operates with a 380 V, 50–60 Hz, three-phase electrical supply.
Overall, the Vibratory Disc Mill combines rapid grinding, pneumatic jar clamping, different grinding capacities and automatic safety functions. Therefore, laboratories can prepare mineral, ore and other solid samples efficiently before further analysis.
