Curing Cabinet for Cement and Mortar Specimens
The Curing Cabinet provides controlled temperature and humidity conditions for cement and mortar specimens before mechanical testing. The system maintains the chamber at 20 ± 1 °C while keeping relative humidity above 95%. These stable conditions help laboratories prepare specimens consistently for later strength determination.
Precise Temperature Control
An immersion heater and refrigeration unit work together to maintain the selected temperature. The digital control unit continuously monitors the cabinet and activates heating or cooling when required.
Maintaining a stable temperature is important because curing conditions directly influence cement hydration and strength development. Sudden temperature changes can introduce unwanted differences between specimen groups.
High-Humidity Curing Environment
Independent water nebulizers generate a fine mist inside the chamber. This system maintains relative humidity from approximately 95% up to saturation.
High humidity reduces moisture loss from cement mortar specimens. As a result, the surfaces remain adequately conditioned throughout the curing period.
Single and 10-Program Control Options
The 120, 250, 500 and 750 L cabinets are available in two control configurations.
Single-programmed versions are suitable for laboratories that routinely use one curing condition. Step-controlled versions allow the operator to store up to 10 programs, offering greater flexibility for different conditioning procedures.
The 1000 L LT-CE0084 model is supplied as a step-controlled, 10-program version.
Stainless Steel Internal Chamber
The internal chamber and storage racks are manufactured from stainless steel. This material performs well in the continuously humid environment required for curing.
The corrosion-resistant surfaces also simplify cleaning and routine maintenance. Specimens can be arranged on the racks while still in their moulds or after removal from the mould, depending on the selected procedure.
Wide Capacity Range
The product family includes 120, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 litre capacities. Smaller cabinets suit laboratories with limited daily specimen volumes, while larger models support higher-throughput quality-control operations.
This range allows laboratories to select a cabinet according to specimen size and daily testing demand.
EN 196-1 and ISO 679 Applications
EN 196-1:2016 describes the preparation, curing and determination of strength of cement mortar specimens.
ISO 679:2009 also defines the reference method for determining cement mortar strength and includes specimen preparation and curing requirements. ISO confirmed the standard again in 2025.
As a result, the Curing Cabinet combines precise temperature regulation, high humidity and multiple capacity options to provide reliable specimen conditioning for cement and mortar laboratories.
