What Is a Fresh Concrete Air Content Meter?
The Fresh Concrete Air Content Meter determines the air content of fresh concrete using the pressure method. The operator places a known volume of fresh concrete into the measuring bowl and applies controlled pressure. The gauge then provides a direct reading of the air content.
Air content is an important parameter in concrete quality control. Regular testing helps laboratories compare different production batches. In addition, users can monitor the effect of air-entraining admixtures on fresh concrete mixtures.
How Does the Pressure Method Work?
First, the operator fills the measuring bowl with fresh concrete. Each layer is compacted according to the required test procedure. The top surface is then levelled with the strike-off blade.
Next, the operator closes the cover and checks all connections. The integrated pump creates the required pressure in the upper chamber. When the valve opens, the system transfers this pressure to the concrete sample.
The pressure gauge then indicates the air content directly as a percentage. This method provides a fast and practical way to evaluate fresh concrete.
7-Liter and 8-Liter Model Options
LİYA Test offers two different capacity options. The LT-C0070 has a 7-liter capacity, overall dimensions of 25 × 26 × 52 cm and an approximate weight of 10 kg.
The LT-C0072 Type B model provides an 8-liter capacity. Its overall dimensions are 28 × 30 × 55 cm, while its approximate weight is 13 kg.
Both models include a pump, pressure gauge and sealed cover system. Therefore, users can select the appropriate capacity according to their laboratory or field requirements.
Fast and Practical Testing
The quick-clamping mechanism allows the operator to secure the lid efficiently. As a result, laboratories can save time during repetitive testing.
The lightweight aluminium construction also improves portability. This feature makes the equipment suitable for both laboratory and field applications.
The standard package includes a strike-off blade and tamping rod. In addition, users can order a carrying case separately for easier transportation.
Testing According to EN 12350-7
EN 12350-7 defines pressure methods for determining the air content of fresh concrete. The method applies to suitable normal-weight and dense-aggregate concrete mixtures.
The product also supports testing procedures associated with ASTM C231/C231M and AASHTO T152. These standards also determine the air content of freshly mixed concrete using pressure-based methods.
Reliable Fresh Concrete Quality Control
The Fresh Concrete Air Content Meter combines controlled pressure application, direct gauge reading and portable construction in one practical system.
As a result, laboratories and field teams can perform routine air-content measurements quickly and consistently. The 7-liter and 8-liter model options also provide flexibility for different fresh-concrete testing requirements.
