LT-AS0046 Automatic Marshall Compactor| ASTM Standard
LT-AS0047 Automatic Marshall Compactor | With Soundproof Cabinet
The Automatic Marshall Compactor compacts bituminous mixture specimens using standardised impact energy. The automatic system controls the specimen preparation process and helps reduce variations caused by manual operation. Therefore, laboratories can achieve consistent and repeatable Marshall specimen preparation.
- Standard impact mechanism: The 4550 ± 20 g hammer automatically falls from a height of 460 ± 3 mm.
- Digital blow control: The operator can set the required number of blows according to the selected test method.
- Automatic stop: The system stops automatically when the preset number of blows is completed.
- Repeatable specimen preparation: Controlled impact energy provides consistent compaction conditions between samples.
- Different model options: EN and ASTM versions are available for different laboratory requirements.
- Soundproof cabinet option: The LT-AS0047 model helps reduce operating noise in the laboratory.
- Digital counter: The integrated display continuously monitors the applied number of blows.
- Laboratory applications: Suitable for asphalt laboratories, universities, R&D centres and quality control facilities.
- Standards support: Designed to support Marshall specimen preparation according to EN 12697-10, EN 12697-30, ASTM D6926, ASTM D5581 and AASHTO T245.

What Is an Automatic Marshall Compactor?
The Automatic Marshall Compactor compacts bituminous mixture specimens using controlled impact energy. The system supports the preparation of specimens required for Marshall testing. Therefore, asphalt laboratories can create consistent compaction conditions for different samples.
Prepared specimens can later be used to evaluate properties such as density, air voids, Marshall stability and flow. Automatic operation also reduces variations that may occur during manual compaction. As a result, the system supports more repeatable specimen preparation.
Standard Impact Mechanism
The compactor uses a hammer weighing 4550 ± 20 g. The mechanism automatically raises the hammer and allows it to fall freely from a height of 460 ± 3 mm.
This controlled drop height provides similar compaction energy with each impact. Therefore, the specimen receives uniform and repeatable blows throughout the compaction process. Liya Test specifies these hammer and drop-height values for the current Automatic Marshall Compactor.
Digital Blow Control
An integrated digital counter monitors the number of impacts applied during specimen preparation. The operator sets the required number of blows according to the selected testing procedure.
When the preset number is reached, the machine stops automatically. This function reduces the need for continuous operator monitoring and helps prevent excessive or insufficient compaction.
Repeatable Marshall Specimen Preparation
The automatic mechanism applies controlled impact energy to each specimen. Consequently, laboratories can prepare samples under similar compaction conditions.
Consistent preparation is particularly important when comparing different asphalt mix designs. The automated process also improves workflow efficiency in laboratories that prepare multiple Marshall specimens every day.
EN, ASTM and Soundproof Model Options
Liya Test offers several configurations for different testing requirements. The LT-AS0045 is listed as the EN version, while the LT-AS0046 is intended for ASTM applications. The LT-AS0047 version includes a soundproof cabinet.
The cabinet option helps reduce operating noise and improves working comfort in busy laboratory environments.
Marshall Compaction According to Standards
The Automatic Marshall Compactor supports specimen preparation procedures associated with EN 12697-10, EN 12697-30, ASTM D6926, ASTM D5581 and AASHTO T245. Liya Test also lists relevant GOST methods for this product series.
Overall, the Automatic Marshall Compactor combines standard impact energy, digital blow control and automatic stopping in one laboratory system. Therefore, asphalt producers, universities and road-testing laboratories can prepare Marshall specimens efficiently and consistently.
