Cement Samplers are designed to collect representative samples from packed and bulk cement for laboratory testing. Two brass sampler models are available for different sampling conditions. The compact LT-CE0048 is suitable for cement bags and packages, while the longer LT-CE0049 uses a twin-tube system for controlled sampling from silos and bulk cement storage.

Cement Samplers for Representative Cement Sampling
Cement Samplers are designed to collect representative cement samples from packages, silos and bulk storage systems. Correct sampling is important because laboratory results only represent the material that actually reaches the test equipment. A suitable sampler therefore helps laboratories obtain material from defined locations rather than relying on an uncontrolled surface sample.
Liya Test offers two models for different cement storage conditions.
Packed Cement Sampler
The LT-CE0048 Cement Sampler is designed for packaged cement. It is manufactured from brass and measures Ø38 × 580 mm.
Its compact length allows the operator to introduce the sampler into a cement bag and collect material from inside the package. The unit weighs approximately 1.25 kg, making it practical for repeated manual sampling.
When evaluating a cement lot, samples can be taken from different packages according to the applicable sampling procedure. These individual portions can then be combined or prepared as required by the test standard.
Bulk and Silo Cement Sampler
The LT-CE0049 is intended for bulk cement stored in silos or transported in bulk shipments. The sampler measures Ø35 × 1500 mm and weighs approximately 2.47 kg.
Its longer body allows the operator to reach material at greater depths.
The sampler consists of two concentric brass tubes with matching slots. The inner tube rotates inside the outer tube. This movement allows the openings to be closed while the sampler is being positioned and opened when the required sampling point is reached.
Controlled Sampling from Different Depths
For bulk cement, the operator inserts the sampler with the slots closed. After reaching the required position, the inner tube is rotated to open the sampling slots.
Cement enters the sampler through these openings. The operator then closes the slots and removes the device. This method helps reduce unwanted material loss while allowing samples to be taken from selected areas of the stored cement.
EN 196-7 Cement Sampling
EN 196-7:2007 specifies equipment and procedures for taking representative cement samples from defined lots. Its scope includes cement stored in silos, bags and other packages, as well as cement transported in bulk.
ASTM C183/C183M Sampling
ASTM C183/C183M-25e1 covers sampling procedures for hydraulic cement after manufacture and before acceptance testing. It also addresses the amount of testing required for evaluating compliance with applicable cement specifications.
As a result, Cement Samplers provide simple and durable solutions for collecting samples from both packed and bulk cement before laboratory testing.
