Wet Washing Sieve is designed for wet sieving and washing of aggregate, soil, mineral and similar granular samples. The 100 mm deep stainless steel frame helps retain the specimen during washing, while the stainless steel woven wire cloth allows fine particles to pass through without unnecessary sample loss. The series is available with Ø200 mm and Ø300 mm frame diameters and six different aperture sizes from 6.3 mm to 63 µm.
- Wet Sieving Application: Allows fine particles to be washed through the sieve.
- 100 mm Deep Frame: Helps reduce splashing, overflow and sample loss.
- Stainless Steel Construction: Both frame and woven wire cloth are manufactured from stainless steel.
- Two Frame Diameters: Available in Ø200 × 100 mm and Ø300 × 100 mm.
- Wide Aperture Range: Options from 6.3 mm down to 63 µm.
- 6.3 mm Aperture: Suitable for coarse wet classification.
- 4.75 mm (#4) Aperture: Available in both frame diameters.
- 2 mm (#10) Aperture: Supports intermediate particle separation.
- 425 µm (#40) Aperture: Suitable for finer wet sieving.
- 75 µm (#200) Aperture: Commonly used for fine material separation.
- 63 µm (#230) Aperture: Provides the finest option in this product group.
- Easy Cleaning: Stainless steel surfaces simplify washing after testing.
- Standard: ASTM E11

Wet Washing Sieve for Laboratory Wet Sieving
The Wet Washing Sieve is designed for wet particle separation in aggregate, soil, mineral and similar laboratory samples. During testing, water carries fine particles through the woven wire cloth while larger particles remain on the sieve. This method is especially useful when dust, clay or other fine material adheres to coarser particles and cannot be separated effectively by dry sieving alone.
Liya Test manufactures the frame and woven wire cloth from stainless steel, providing resistance to water and corrosion during repeated laboratory use.
100 mm Deep Stainless Steel Frame
Each sieve has a 100 mm deep frame. Compared with conventional shallow test sieves, the deeper construction provides additional space for the sample and washing water.
This helps reduce splashing and accidental sample loss during wet testing. It also allows the operator to move and rinse the specimen more easily while keeping material inside the sieve.
Ø200 and Ø300 mm Frame Options
Two frame diameters are available. The LT-G5007–LT-G5012 series uses Ø200 × 100 mm frames, while the LT-G6007–LT-G6012 series uses larger Ø300 × 100 mm frames.
The Ø200 mm models are suitable for routine laboratory quantities. The Ø300 mm versions provide a larger working area when greater sample volumes must be washed.
Six Aperture Sizes
The series includes 6.3 mm, 4.75 mm (#4), 2 mm (#10), 425 µm (#40), 75 µm (#200) and 63 µm (#230) openings.
This range allows the laboratory to select an appropriate sieve according to the required particle-size separation. Multiple sieves may also be used as part of a broader sample-classification procedure.
Wet Sieving Procedure
The operator places the prepared sample into the selected sieve and applies a controlled flow of water. Fine particles pass through the openings while larger particles remain on the wire cloth.
Washing continues until the required separation condition is reached. The retained material can then be dried and weighed according to the applicable test method.
Careful washing is important because excessive water pressure may cause unnecessary material loss or damage to fine sieve cloth.
ASTM E11 Test Sieve Requirements
ASTM E11-24 defines requirements for woven wire sieve cloth, sieve construction, frame dimensions and aperture tolerances. The specification applies to nominal aperture sizes between 125 mm and 20 µm.
As a result, the Wet Washing Sieve combines deep stainless steel frames, multiple aperture sizes and two diameter options for reliable and practical wet particle separation.
