What Is a Semi-Automatic Specimen Grinding Machine?

Available adapters include options for Ø150 × 300 mm and Ø100 × 200 mm cylinders, Ø150 mm cube specimens, and Ø35–Ø150 mm core specimens.

Preparation of Concrete and Rock Specimens

EN 12390-1 defines the shape, dimensions and dimensional tolerances of concrete specimens used for strength testing. EN 12390-3 covers compressive strength testing of hardened concrete specimens. Therefore, suitable specimen preparation plays an important role before the load is applied.

For drilled concrete cores, EN 12504-1 covers the taking, examining and testing of cores from hardened concrete.

On the ASTM side, ASTM C39/C39M covers compressive strength testing of cylindrical concrete specimens. In addition, ASTM D4543 addresses the preparation of rock core specimens before strength and deformation testing.
