Sample Extruder for Controlled Specimen Removal
The Sample Extruder is designed to remove cylindrical specimens from moulds and test cells without applying unnecessary impact. Its manually operated hydraulic system pushes the specimen out gradually. This controlled movement helps reduce cracking, deformation and other damage during sample preparation.
The LT-R0080 Sample Extruder for Hoek Triaxial Cells is particularly suitable for rock-core laboratory applications. However, its adjustable structure also provides flexibility for compatible cylindrical soil and compacted specimens.
Manual Hydraulic Extraction System
The machine uses a hand-operated hydraulic jack. Therefore, it does not require an electrical connection.
The hydraulic system applies force gradually while the operator controls the movement. The maximum specified extraction force is 30 kN. This capacity helps remove specimens that remain tightly fitted inside moulds or cells.
Manual operation also makes the device practical in laboratories where electrical access is limited.
Ø35–101.6 mm Specimen Range
The machine supports specimens with diameters from approximately 35 mm to 101.6 mm. It can also accommodate specimens up to 900 mm in length.
The hydraulic piston position can be adjusted quickly according to specimen dimensions. This feature reduces preparation time when laboratories work with different core sizes.
BX, NX and HQ Core Adapters
The standard system includes BX, NX and HQ type adapters. These components allow the machine to work with common rock-core sizes.
The correct adapter keeps the sample aligned with the hydraulic piston. Proper alignment is important because uneven loading may damage the specimen during extraction.
Ring and tamper adapters also provide additional flexibility for suitable mould arrangements.
Adjustable Specimen Support
After extraction, the specimen moves onto a support mounted on the machine. The operator can adjust this support according to the position and length of the sample.
This arrangement helps prevent long cores from falling immediately after leaving the mould. As a result, delicate specimens can be handled more safely before the next laboratory procedure.
Compact Laboratory Design
The Sample Extruder measures approximately 47 × 22 × 20 cm and weighs about 13 kg. Its compact construction allows the machine to occupy relatively little laboratory space.
Since the system is manually powered, maintenance requirements remain simple. Regular cleaning of the piston, adapters and supporting surfaces helps maintain smooth operation.
Reliable Sample Preparation
Correct specimen extraction is an important part of laboratory preparation. Excessive impact or uncontrolled force may crack a core before mechanical testing begins. The Sample Extruder applies gradual hydraulic force and supports the specimen throughout the removal process.
As a result, the system combines 30 kN extraction force, adjustable positioning and multiple core adapters in a practical solution for controlled specimen preparation.
