    Description

Muffle Furnaces for High-Temperature Laboratory Testing

Muffle Furnaces provide controlled high-temperature heating for cement, mineral, aggregate, metal, ceramic and similar laboratory samples. The product series combines different chamber capacities with maximum temperatures of 1100 °C and 1200 °C, allowing laboratories to select a suitable furnace according to sample quantity and test requirements.

    1100 °C and 1200 °C Temperature Options

Two maximum-temperature ranges are available. The 1100 °C series is suitable for routine laboratory heating, ashing and thermal treatment applications.

For processes requiring higher temperatures, the 1200 °C series provides additional operating range.

Both product groups are available with 4, 7, 10, 20 and 45 litre chamber capacities. This broad selection supports both routine testing and higher sample volumes.

    PID Temperature Control

The integrated microprocessor-based PID controller continuously monitors the furnace temperature and regulates heater output.

The control panel displays actual operating temperature and allows programmed heating sequences to be prepared. Liya also lists timed programs, delayed-start functions, warnings and power-interruption protection among the furnace control features.

This programmable structure helps laboratories repeat frequently used heating procedures under similar conditions.

    Insulated High-Temperature Chamber

The furnace chamber combines heat-resistant firebrick with fibre-based insulation. The insulation helps reduce heat loss and supports more uniform heat distribution inside the chamber.

A dedicated fume outlet is also provided to assist with the removal of gases or fumes generated during heating processes.

    Laboratory Applications

Muffle furnaces can support ashing, loss-on-ignition testing, thermal ageing, heat treatment, chemical decomposition and high-temperature sample preparation.

For cement laboratories, EN 196-2:2025 specifies current chemical-analysis methods for cement.

ASTM C114-24 also covers chemical analysis of hydraulic cement and includes muffle furnaces among the required laboratory apparatus.

For limestone and lime testing, ASTM C25-24 covers chemical analysis of limestone, quicklime and hydrated lime.

    Flexible Capacity for Different Laboratories

Small-volume laboratories can select the 4 or 7 litre models. Medium-volume applications can use the 10 or 20 litre versions, while the 45 litre furnaces provide increased chamber space for higher sample throughput.

As a result, Muffle Furnaces combine programmable temperature control, multiple chamber capacities and high-temperature insulation for reliable laboratory heating and ashing applications.
