    Description

What Is a Rebar Pull-Out Tester?

The Rebar Pull-Out Tester evaluates the bond and pull-out performance of reinforcing bars anchored in concrete. The hydraulic system applies a controlled tensile force directly to the reinforcing bar. This allows users to assess the interaction between the steel reinforcement and the surrounding concrete.

The equipment can also support on-site inspection of installed anchors and reinforcement systems. Therefore, laboratories and field teams can evaluate pull-out behaviour without transporting large structural elements to a laboratory.

LİYA Test offers both manual and digital configurations, together with 300 kN and 500 kN capacity options.

    Manual and Digital Model Options

The LT-C0140 is the standard manual model with a maximum capacity of 300 kN. The hydraulic system uses a steel cylinder, a high-pressure hose and a 700 bar hand pump.

The operator follows the applied load through the analog indicating system.

The LT-C0141 provides the same basic hydraulic operating principle but uses a digital reading unit. This configuration simplifies direct monitoring of the applied tensile load during field and laboratory tests.

For higher-capacity applications, manual and digital 500 kN variants are also available.

    300 kN and 500 kN Pull-Out Capacity

The standard LT-C0140 and LT-C0141 models provide a pulling capacity of 30 tons, approximately 300 kN.

These models use a 50 mm piston stroke and are suitable for reinforcement diameters from Ø8 mm to Ø32 mm.

For applications requiring higher tensile loads, the LT-C0140/1 and LT-C0141/1 variants provide 50-ton, approximately 500 kN capacity. Their grip range extends up to approximately Ø34 mm.

This range allows the laboratory to select the required system according to reinforcement diameter and expected pull-out load.

    Interchangeable Rebar Grip Sets

Different reinforcement diameters require suitable gripping components to transfer the tensile force safely.

The product range includes dedicated grip sets for Ø8–10, Ø12–14, Ø16–18, Ø20–22, Ø24–26, Ø28–30, Ø30–32 and Ø32–34 mm reinforcing bars.

The grips use high-strength steel construction to hold the rebar securely during loading. Selecting the correct grip size also helps maintain proper alignment between the test unit and reinforcement.

How Is a Rebar Pull-Out Test Performed?

First, the operator identifies the reinforcement or anchor to be tested and selects the correct grip set.

The hydraulic pulling unit is then positioned around the bar. The user checks that the loading system remains aligned with the reinforcement axis before applying pressure.

Next, the hydraulic hand pump gradually increases the tensile load. The operator monitors the applied force using the analog or digital reading system.

The load is increased according to the required test procedure until the specified load level, displacement condition or failure criterion is reached.

During testing, the operator should observe possible bar slip, concrete cracking, anchorage movement or pull-out failure.

Bond Performance Between Rebar and Concrete

Bond between reinforcement and concrete allows forces to transfer between the two materials.

Insufficient anchorage can lead to excessive slip or pull-out under tensile loading. Therefore, pull-out testing can provide useful information when evaluating embedded reinforcement, post-installed systems or other anchorage applications.

The measured pull-out load should always be interpreted according to the relevant design requirement, test method and anchorage configuration.

Compact Hydraulic Design for Field Testing

The standard 300 kN models have dimensions of approximately 18 × 18 × 21 cm and weigh about 28 kg.

This compact configuration allows the tester to be transported between different points on a construction site.

The hydraulic hand-pump system also reduces dependence on fixed electrical power. As a result, the device is practical for testing anchors and reinforcement directly at the installation location.

    Manual or Digital Load Monitoring

The manual model provides a straightforward solution for routine pull-out testing. The analog indicator allows the user to monitor the applied load directly.

The digital model improves readability and provides a more convenient interface when test loads must be monitored closely.

Both configurations use the same basic principle: controlled hydraulic tension is transferred through the grips to the reinforcing bar.

Reliable Rebar and Anchor Pull-Out Testing

The Rebar Pull-Out Tester combines high hydraulic capacity, interchangeable reinforcement grips and portable construction in one professional testing system.

With 300 kN and 500 kN capacities, manual and digital configurations, and grip options covering reinforcement diameters up to Ø34 mm, the product range supports different laboratory and field requirements.

As a result, users can evaluate reinforcement and anchorage pull-out performance in a controlled and repeatable manner.
