What Is a Laboratory Vacuum Filter?
The Laboratory Vacuum Filter is designed to separate solid particles from liquid phases in mineral suspensions. The system creates a pressure difference beneath the filter medium and draws liquid through the filtration surface.
During operation, the liquid passes through the filter paper and is transferred to a glass collection flask. Solid particles remain on the filtration surface and gradually form a filter cake.
The LT-M0618 Vacuum Filter therefore supports laboratory-scale dewatering and sample preparation in mining and mineral-processing applications. Liya Test lists the LT-M0618 as its Vacuum Filter model without a specific test standard.
Two-Stage Vacuum Pump
The system uses a two-stage vacuum pump with a suction capacity of approximately 9.0 m³/h.
Under specified operating conditions, the pump can reach approximately 0.02 mbar vacuum. This strong pressure difference helps liquid pass through the filter medium efficiently.
The pump is powered by a 0.37 kW motor operating at approximately 2800 rpm. Its oil reservoir has an approximate capacity of 500 ml.
Ø250 × 60 mm Filter Chamber
The filtration chamber has dimensions of approximately Ø250 × 60 mm.
The chamber provides the working area where the mineral suspension contacts the filter medium. During filtration, solid material remains on the upper surface while liquid moves toward the vacuum collection system.
The two-piece chamber and cover also help maintain the closed vacuum environment required for controlled filtration.
Filter Paper and Support System
The system includes filter paper measuring approximately 400 × 400 mm. The supplied package contains 100 sheets with an approximate filtration rating of 40 µm.
A fabric support element helps keep the filter paper correctly positioned during operation. Beneath this assembly, a stainless steel mesh provides additional mechanical support.
This layered structure helps prevent the filter paper from deforming excessively under vacuum.
Glass Filtrate Collection
Filtered liquid is transferred from the chamber to a glass collection flask through the vacuum line.
Depending on the required configuration, 1000 ml or 2000 ml glass collection vessels can be used. The transparent container allows the operator to observe and collect the filtrate during laboratory work.
The appropriate flask configuration should be confirmed according to the required test setup.
Mineral Processing Applications
The Vacuum Filter can be used in mineral-processing laboratories for slurry filtration, sample dewatering and preparation of solid material for subsequent drying or analysis.
Vacuum filtration reduces the amount of liquid retained in the solid sample and can shorten the preparation process compared with gravity-only filtration.
Overall, the LT-M0618 Laboratory Vacuum Filter combines a two-stage vacuum pump, compact filter chamber and complete filtration support system for practical laboratory solid-liquid separation.
