Fume Hood

STANDART:    –

LT-G0248        Fume Hood

    PRODUCT DETAILS

The Laboratory Fume Hood removes gases, vapours, aerosols and odours generated during laboratory work from the operating area. Its adjustable exhaust system captures contaminated air at the source, while the guillotine-style tempered glass sash creates a protective barrier between the operator and the work zone.

    • Effective air extraction: The fan system directs contaminants generated during operation from the cabinet to the exhaust line.
    • Step speed control: The operator can easily adjust the suction level according to the application.
    • Guillotine-type front sash: The counterbalanced glass sash moves smoothly on its rail system.
    • Tempered glass structure: The transparent front section allows safe observation of the working area.
    • Chemically resistant body: The epoxy electrostatic powder-coated metal surface resists moisture and chemical effects.
    • Illuminated workspace: The internal fluorescent lamp provides clear visibility during testing.
    • Integrated sockets: Front panel electrical outlets support the use of laboratory devices inside the hood.
    • Optional accessories: Gas, water, sink, base cabinet and different worktop options can be added.
    • Power supply: The standard model operates with 220 V, 50 Hz electricity.

    Description

What Is a Laboratory Fume Hood?

The Laboratory Fume Hood captures hazardous air at the source during laboratory operations. The system helps limit the spread of gases, vapours, aerosols, odours and light dust into the working environment. The exhaust fan then directs contaminated air into the connected discharge line.

This type of equipment is especially useful during chemical preparation, heating and solvent-related work. As a result, the operator works in a safer and more controlled area.

    Adjustable Exhaust System

The unit uses a fan system with step speed control. The operator can adjust the extraction level according to the type of application. This flexibility allows the hood to adapt to different laboratory tasks more easily.

The fan continuously pulls air from inside the cabinet. Therefore, airborne contaminants move towards the exhaust system instead of spreading into the operator zone. Different fan capacity options also support various laboratory requirements.

    Guillotine-Type Tempered Glass Sash

The front sash moves vertically on a rail system. The user can position it at a suitable working height. This design helps limit the open working area and provides extra protection against splashes and direct exposure.

The tempered glass construction offers durability for daily laboratory use. In addition, the transparent front panel allows clear observation of the operation inside the hood.

Durable Cabinet Structure and Practical Use

The cabinet body is finished with epoxy electrostatic powder coating. This surface helps protect the metal structure against moisture and many laboratory chemicals. The internal fluorescent light also improves visibility in the work area.

The system can be supplied with optional features such as gas and water outlets, a sink, a lower cabinet and alternative work surfaces. These options help laboratories configure the hood according to their operational needs.

    Safe Operation in the Laboratory

During use, the operator should keep the sash at the recommended working level. Test items should also be placed well inside the cabinet rather than directly at the front opening. This supports a more stable airflow pattern.

A fume hood does not replace personal protective equipment. Operators should still use suitable gloves, eye protection and laboratory clothing according to the process risk.

    Standards and Performance

The EN 14175 series covers safety and performance requirements for general-purpose fume hoods. These standards address airflow, containment performance and installation-related checks.
