Ball Mill for Wet and Dry Laboratory Grinding
The Ball Mill is designed for controlled grinding of cement, mineral, ore and similar laboratory materials. The system supports both wet and dry grinding, allowing laboratories to prepare different sample types with the same machine.
A cylindrical chamber rotates at a fixed speed while steel balls repeatedly impact and rub against the material. This combined action reduces larger particles and produces a more homogeneous laboratory sample.
22 Litre Grinding Chamber
The machine features a 22 litre cylindrical grinding chamber. Its internal dimensions are approximately Ø305 × 305 mm. This geometry provides sufficient movement space for the grinding media and test sample.
A 100 × 300 mm side opening simplifies sample loading and unloading. The cover uses a rubber seal to reduce leakage and dust release during operation. This construction is particularly useful when the machine is used for wet grinding.
70 rpm Fixed Grinding Speed
The grinding chamber operates at a fixed speed of 70 rpm. Stable rotational speed helps maintain similar mechanical conditions between successive grinding operations.
The operator selects the grinding duration according to the material type and required final condition. Harder or coarser materials may require longer processing times.
Multiple Grinding Ball Diameters
The Ball Mill uses corrosion-resistant steel balls of several diameters. Liya supplies balls measuring approximately 36, 30, 25.40, 19.05 and 12.70 mm.
Large balls provide stronger impact on coarse particles. Smaller balls increase the number of contact points and support finer grinding.
Using different ball diameters together creates a more balanced grinding environment.
Wet and Dry Grinding
For dry grinding, the operator places the prepared solid sample directly into the chamber together with the grinding media.
Wet grinding introduces a suitable liquid phase during processing. This method may help reduce airborne dust and improve dispersion for certain mineral and laboratory samples.
The rubber-sealed side cover helps retain material during both operating modes.
Heavy-Duty Laboratory Construction
The LT-CE0022 Ball Mill measures approximately 55 × 145 × 135 cm and weighs about 350 kg. The substantial machine body provides mechanical stability while the chamber rotates.
The system operates from a 220 V, 50 Hz, single-phase electrical supply. It is suitable for cement laboratories, mining and ore-preparation facilities, research centres and other laboratories requiring controlled sample grinding.
As a result, the Ball Mill combines a 22 litre chamber, fixed grinding speed and multiple steel-ball sizes to provide reliable wet and dry sample preparation.
