    Description

What Is a Concrete Maturity Meter?

The Concrete Maturity Meter is a professional monitoring system used to track the temperature history and maturity development of concrete after casting. The instrument records temperature data over time and uses these measurements to calculate the weighted maturity of the concrete.

When a suitable maturity-strength relationship has been established for the specific concrete mixture, the system can also support the estimation of compressive strength development.

This information helps construction teams make better-informed decisions about operations such as formwork removal, prestressing and other activities that depend on concrete strength development.

    Four-Sensor Simultaneous Measurement

The Concrete Maturity Meter is supplied with four sensors. These sensors can be positioned at different locations and depths within the concrete.

As a result, users can monitor temperature and maturity development at several points simultaneously.

This capability is particularly useful in large concrete elements where different areas may experience different temperature histories. The four-channel configuration allows these variations to be monitored and compared throughout the curing process.

    Online Monitoring and Automatic Reporting

Measurement data can be followed through the system’s web-based interface.

The unit automatically records temperature and maturity information during the test period. Users can review the development of the concrete without manually recording every measurement.

Online monitoring also simplifies long-term projects because test data can be stored and reviewed from a central location.

Historical measurements can be used for project documentation and comparison of different pours.

    Concrete Temperature and Maturity Calculation

Concrete strength development is strongly influenced by both temperature and time.

The Concrete Maturity Meter continuously records the concrete temperature. The system then uses these measurements to calculate weighted maturity.

This method provides a more realistic indication of concrete development than considering curing time alone. Concrete exposed to different temperature conditions can develop strength at different rates even when the elapsed curing time is the same.

    Strength Development Estimation

The maturity method can support the estimation of compressive strength when a suitable relationship between maturity and strength has been established for the concrete mixture.

This relationship should be determined in advance using representative concrete and strength-test results.

Once the relationship is defined, field maturity values can be used to estimate how the concrete is developing under actual curing conditions.

However, the Concrete Maturity Meter does not directly measure compressive strength. The accuracy of the estimated strength depends on proper calibration and the validity of the maturity-strength relationship for the specific mix.

    Wide Temperature Range

    The LT-C6000 operates within a temperature range of -5 °C to +110 °C.

Its temperature resolution is 0.5 °C, allowing the system to follow changes throughout the concrete curing process.

This broad measuring range supports use in different climatic and construction conditions.

The test duration can be programmed in hourly intervals for periods of up to 1800 hours, making the system suitable for both early-age monitoring and extended concrete studies.

Rechargeable Battery and Long Sensor Cables

The instrument uses a NiMH 6.0 V / 3050 mAh rechargeable battery, supporting portable field operation.

The system works with Fe-CuNi thermocouple cables, which can be used at lengths of up to 150 meters.

Long sensor cables allow measurement points to be positioned at different locations within large structural elements or construction areas while the main unit remains accessible to the operator.

Concrete Maturity Monitoring According to TS 13508

The Concrete Maturity Meter supports concrete maturity measurements according to TS 13508.

The system combines four-sensor temperature monitoring, automatic maturity calculations and web-based data management in one practical solution.

As a result, construction teams can monitor concrete temperature, weighted maturity and estimated strength development in a systematic and traceable manner.

The LT-C6000 provides a practical solution for projects that require long-term concrete monitoring and better control over construction timing.
