What Is a Bench Type Cutting Machine?
The Bench Type Cutting Machine prepares concrete, rock and natural stone specimens to the required dimensions before laboratory testing. A powerful motor drives the diamond cutting blade at a stable operating rate. As a result, laboratories can obtain clean and controlled specimen cuts.
Proper specimen preparation can directly influence subsequent mechanical testing. Uneven or damaged cutting surfaces may affect specimen dimensions and load distribution. Therefore, the specimen should remain firmly secured throughout the cutting process.
Different Diamond Blade Options
The product range includes three models with different blade diameters. The LT-C0130 uses a Ø350 mm blade, while the LT-C0131 is equipped with a Ø450 mm blade.
For larger specimens, the LT-C0132 offers a Ø600 mm diamond blade.
These options allow laboratories to select a machine according to specimen dimensions and required cutting depth. The LT-C0130 provides a cutting depth of 125 mm, while the LT-C0131 reaches 175 mm. The largest model offers a maximum cutting depth of 250 mm.
Secure Specimen Positioning
Stable specimen positioning is important for maintaining the intended cutting line. The machine uses a dedicated holding system for cylindrical specimens.
A V-block support holds the specimen from two sides and helps prevent rotation or lateral movement during blade contact. The system supports standard Ø100 mm cylindrical specimens.
Before each cutting operation, the user should check the specimen holder and all fastening points. Proper fixation supports both cutting quality and operational safety.
Water Cooling System
An integrated water circulation pump supplies cooling water to the blade during cutting. This water helps control blade temperature and reduces fine dust generated during the process.
Continuous cooling also supports diamond blade service life. In addition, it helps reduce the risk of excessive heating, chipping and surface damage on the specimen.
The operator should check the water level and circulation flow before starting each cutting operation.
Model-Specific Cutting Performance
The three models provide different capacities for laboratory specimen preparation.
The LT-C0130 operates with a 3 hp motor, provides a 470 mm cutting length, and weighs approximately 110 kg.
The LT-C0131 uses a 4 hp motor and provides a maximum cutting depth of 175 mm. Its approximate weight is 135 kg.
The larger LT-C0132 features a 5.5 hp motor, a 500 mm cutting length, and a maximum cutting depth of 250 mm. The machine weighs approximately 165 kg.
This range allows users to select the appropriate configuration for routine or larger specimen preparation tasks.
Preparation of Concrete and Rock Specimens
EN 12504-1 covers the taking, examining and testing of cores from hardened concrete. Correct cutting and preparation help laboratories obtain specimens with suitable geometry for further testing.
ASTM C42/C42M addresses obtaining and testing drilled cores and sawed beams of concrete. Therefore, controlled cutting plays an important role in preparing suitable concrete specimens.
For rock testing, ASTM D4543 covers the preparation of rock core specimens and dimensional tolerances before strength and deformation testing.
Reliable Laboratory Cutting
The Bench Type Cutting Machine combines multiple blade sizes, secure specimen positioning and water-cooled diamond cutting in one product range.
As a result, laboratories can prepare concrete, rock and natural stone specimens in a clean, controlled and repeatable manner. The three model options allow users to select the appropriate cutting capacity according to specimen dimensions and laboratory requirements.
