LIYA Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) is used to determine the structural properties of road foundation and sub-foundation applications without fastening material.
The design of the device is similar to DCP defined by Kleyn, Maree and Savage (1982). It works by lowering the 8 kg rammer from 575 mm to the 60 ° conical end. Standard DCP measurements can be made up to a depth of 850 mm, this measuring depth can be increased up to 2 meters with the extension shaft if required.
Readings are made after a number of drops are made according to the type of soil studied. A typical experiment can be completed in a few minutes. As a result, information normally obtained by opening a test pit can be obtained more quickly and safely using DCP. Allows more measurements and data acquisition in the field.
