What Is a Micum Drum Test Apparatus?<\/h2>\n

The Micum Drum Test Apparatus<\/strong> determines the mechanical strength of coke samples with a particle size greater than 20 mm<\/strong>. The test subjects the coke to controlled mechanical impact and abrasion inside a rotating cylindrical drum.<\/p>\n

After the specified number of revolutions, the material is removed and classified by sieving. The resulting size distribution provides information about the coke\u2019s resistance to breakage and abrasion.<\/p>\n

ISO 556:2020<\/strong> is the current international standard for determining the mechanical strength of coke greater than 20 mm in size. The 2020 edition replaced ISO 556:1980.<\/p>\n

\u00d8100 \u00d7 100 cm Test Drum<\/h2>\n

The LT-M0075<\/strong> is equipped with a cylindrical test drum having internal dimensions of approximately \u00d8100 \u00d7 100 cm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Liya Test lists the nominal drum capacity as 780 litres<\/strong>. This large working volume provides the space required for the coke sample to fall, impact and abrade during rotation.<\/p>\n

The drum rotates at approximately 25 rpm<\/strong>, creating repeatable mechanical action throughout the test. Liya\u2019s published specifications also list this rotational speed for the LT-M0075.<\/p>\n

Digital Revolution Control<\/h2>\n

A digital revolution counter allows the operator to select the required number of drum rotations before starting the test.<\/p>\n

The counter continuously monitors drum revolutions and automatically stops the machine once the preset value has been reached. This eliminates the need for manual counting and helps maintain consistent test conditions between different coke samples.<\/p>\n

Micum Mechanical Strength Testing<\/h2>\n

During a Micum test, a prepared coke sample is placed inside the drum and exposed to repeated mechanical impact.<\/p>\n

After tumbling, the sample is sieved to determine the degree of degradation. The historical ISO 556 method describes evaluation after 100 drum revolutions for the Micum test<\/strong>, with an additional longer tumbling procedure associated with the Irsid test.<\/p>\n

The resulting indices provide information about the coke\u2019s resistance to fragmentation and abrasion. These values are useful for comparing coke batches and evaluating material quality.<\/p>\n

Heavy-Duty Drive System<\/h2>\n

The drum is powered by a 1.5 HP electric motor operating at approximately 1400 rpm<\/strong>. A gearbox reduces the motor speed and transfers controlled rotation to the test drum.<\/p>\n

The complete machine weighs approximately 950 kg<\/strong>, providing a stable base during repeated drum rotation. The LT-M0075 operates with a 380 V, 50\u201360 Hz, three-phase<\/strong> electrical supply according to Liya\u2019s current Turkish technical table.<\/p>\n

Coke Testing According to ISO 556<\/h2>\n

The Micum Drum Test Apparatus<\/strong> is directly associated with ISO 556<\/strong>, unlike the Disc Mill and other grinding products where this standard had been copied incorrectly.<\/p>\n

The current version, ISO 556:2020<\/strong>, specifies determination of the mechanical strength of coke greater than 20 mm. Liya Test also continues to list TS 1611 March 1986<\/strong> for the LT-M0075.<\/p>\n

Overall, the LT-M0075 Micum Drum Test Apparatus<\/strong> combines a large \u00d8100 \u00d7 100 cm drum, controlled 25 rpm rotation<\/strong>, digital revolution counting and automatic stop.
