What Is a Reflux Extractor Test Set?<\/h2>\n

The Reflux Extractor Test Set<\/strong> determines the binder content of hot-mixed bituminous mixtures and pavement samples. The system uses heated solvent to dissolve the binder from the aggregate. Therefore, laboratories can determine the bitumen content of asphalt mixtures under controlled test conditions.<\/p>\n

Binder percentage is an important parameter in asphalt production quality control. It helps determine whether a prepared mixture complies with the target mix design. The reflux extraction method provides a practical solution for routine asphalt laboratory analysis.<\/p>\n

Liya Test offers the system in 1000 g and 4000 g capacity<\/strong> versions.<\/p>\n

Hot-Solvent Extraction Method<\/h2>\n

The operator places the asphalt specimen inside the wire basket. A thermostat-controlled hot plate heats the solvent until vapour rises towards the condenser.<\/p>\n

The condenser cools the vapour and converts it back into liquid. The solvent then flows through the asphalt specimen and dissolves the bituminous binder.<\/p>\n

This cycle repeats continuously during the test. As a result, the binder is progressively removed from the aggregate.<\/p>\n

Heat-Resistant Glass Extractor<\/h2>\n

The test set includes a cylindrical glass extractor jar. Its transparent construction allows the operator to observe solvent circulation and the progress of the extraction process.<\/p>\n

The LT-AS0001<\/strong> uses a glass extractor approximately \u00d8150 \u00d7 460 mm<\/strong>, while the larger LT-AS0002<\/strong> uses a jar approximately \u00d8220 \u00d7 460 mm<\/strong>. Liya\u2019s current English product page lists these dimensions for the two models.<\/p>\n

Wire Baskets and Condenser<\/h2>\n

The system uses cone-shaped wire baskets to hold the asphalt sample during extraction. The LT-AS0001\/3<\/strong> basket has approximately 500 g capacity<\/strong>, while the larger LT-AS0002\/3<\/strong> basket provides approximately 2000 g capacity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The condenser continuously recovers solvent vapour and returns liquid solvent to the specimen. This closed reflux cycle supports efficient binder removal.<\/p>\n

1500 W Controlled Heating<\/h2>\n

The LT-G0244 Single Hot Plate<\/strong> provides approximately 1500 W<\/strong> of heating power and uses an analog thermostat.<\/p>\n

Controlled heating maintains the solvent reflux required throughout the test. Stable heat input also helps laboratories maintain more repeatable extraction conditions.<\/p>\n

1000 and 4000 g Capacity Options<\/h2>\n

The LT-AS0001<\/strong> model provides 1000 g capacity<\/strong> and weighs approximately 10 kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The larger LT-AS0002<\/strong> provides 4000 g capacity<\/strong> and weighs approximately 12 kg<\/strong>. Both main units have external dimensions of approximately 26 \u00d7 26 \u00d7 62 cm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This model range allows laboratories to select a suitable extractor according to routine sample quantity.<\/p>\n

Binder Extraction According to Standards<\/h2>\n

The Reflux Extractor Test Set<\/strong> supports quantitative binder extraction procedures associated with ASTM D2172\/D2172M and AASHTO T164 Method B<\/strong>. Liya Test currently lists ASTM D2172 and AASHTO T164-B for this product family.<\/p>\n

Overall, the system combines controlled heating, continuous solvent reflux and different sample capacities. Therefore, asphalt laboratories can determine binder content under consistent and repeatable test conditions.<\/p>\n
