The Cleveland Open Cup Flash and Fire Point Tester<\/strong> determines the flash and fire points of petroleum products under controlled laboratory conditions. The system follows the Cleveland open cup method and helps laboratories evaluate the thermal behaviour of suitable petroleum and bituminous materials.<\/p>\n

The flash point indicates the temperature at which vapours above the sample can ignite momentarily when exposed to a test flame. The fire point represents the temperature at which combustion continues. Therefore, both values provide useful information for product characterisation and safety assessment.<\/p>\n

ASTM D92 covers determination of flash and fire points using manual or automatic Cleveland open cup apparatus.<\/p>\n

Cleveland Open Cup Test Method<\/h2>\n

The operator pours the prepared sample into the brass test cup<\/strong>. The heating system then gradually increases the sample temperature under controlled conditions.<\/p>\n
