What Is a Laboratory Fume Hood?<\/h2>\n

The Laboratory Fume Hood<\/strong> captures hazardous air at the source during laboratory operations. The system helps limit the spread of gases, vapours, aerosols, odours and light dust into the working environment. The exhaust fan then directs contaminated air into the connected discharge line.<\/p>\n

This type of equipment is especially useful during chemical preparation, heating and solvent-related work. As a result, the operator works in a safer and more controlled area.<\/p>\n

Durable Cabinet Structure and Practical Use<\/h2>\n

The cabinet body is finished with epoxy electrostatic powder coating<\/strong>. This surface helps protect the metal structure against moisture and many laboratory chemicals. The internal fluorescent light also improves visibility in the work area.<\/p>\n

The system can be supplied with optional features such as gas and water outlets, a sink, a lower cabinet and alternative work surfaces. These options help laboratories configure the hood according to their operational needs.<\/p>\n

Safe Operation in the Laboratory<\/h2>\n

During use, the operator should keep the sash at the recommended working level. Test items should also be placed well inside the cabinet rather than directly at the front opening. This supports a more stable airflow pattern.<\/p>\n

A fume hood does not replace personal protective equipment. Operators should still use suitable gloves, eye protection and laboratory clothing according to the process risk.<\/p>\n
