Air Content Meter for Fresh Mortar Testing<\/h1>\n

The Air Content Meter<\/strong> determines the amount of entrained air in fresh mortar by the pressure method. The apparatus uses a sealed 1 litre test chamber<\/strong> and a pressure system to measure changes in the volume of air contained within the mortar.<\/p>\n

Air content is an important quality-control parameter for fresh mortar. Changes in entrained air can affect workability, density and other characteristics of the mix. Regular testing therefore helps laboratories compare different mortar batches under consistent conditions.<\/p>\n

1 Litre Cast Aluminium Chamber<\/h2>\n

The test chamber is manufactured from cast aluminium<\/strong> and provides a nominal capacity of 1 litre<\/strong>. Its rigid construction creates a stable container for pressure testing.<\/p>\n

The smooth internal surface also simplifies cleaning after each test. Users should remove all mortar residue before starting a new measurement because hardened material can affect the effective chamber volume.<\/p>\n

Pressure Method Operation<\/h2>\n

The operator first fills the chamber with freshly prepared mortar according to the selected test procedure. The cover is then secured to create a sealed system.<\/p>\n

An integrated pump generates the required initial pressure inside the pressure chamber. The operator then opens the equalizing valve. Pressure is transferred to the mortar-filled test chamber.<\/p>\n

The entrained air within the fresh mortar changes volume under the applied pressure. This causes a measurable pressure drop. The calibrated gauge converts this change into an air-content percentage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Direct and Rapid Reading<\/h2>\n

The pressure gauge allows the user to read the test result directly. This reduces the need for additional calculations and supports rapid routine quality-control testing.<\/p>\n

Because the test depends on pressure stability, the cover, valves and sealing surfaces should be checked regularly. A leaking system can produce unreliable readings.<\/p>\n

Compact Laboratory Design<\/h2>\n

The LT-CE0046 Air Content Meter<\/strong> measures 200 \u00d7 200 \u00d7 320 mm<\/strong> and weighs approximately 3.5 kg<\/strong>. Its relatively compact construction makes it suitable for both laboratory benches and mobile testing applications.<\/p>\n

EN 1015-7 Pressure Method<\/h2>\n

EN 1015-7<\/strong> defines the determination of air content in fresh masonry mortar. Method A uses the pressure principle and applies to mortar with an air content below 20%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The apparatus can also support relevant testing under EN 413-2<\/strong> for masonry cement and EN 459-2<\/strong> for building lime when used according to the applicable procedure.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Air Content Meter<\/strong> combines a compact 1 litre chamber, direct pressure measurement and simple operation for routine fresh-mortar quality control.<\/p>\n
