Wet Sieving Apparatus for 45 \u00b5m Fineness Testing<\/h1>\n

The Wet Sieving Apparatus<\/strong> determines the fineness of fly ash and hydraulic cement by washing a prepared sample through a 45 \u00b5m sieve<\/strong>. The method separates fine particles from the material retained on the sieve. Laboratories can then determine the percentage of residue and compare different production batches.<\/p>\n

The apparatus combines a corrosion-resistant sieve, controlled spray nozzle and pressure gauge in one compact system. Therefore, users can maintain more consistent washing conditions during repeated fineness tests.<\/p>\n

45 \u00b5m Stainless Steel Sieve<\/h2>\n

The apparatus uses a stainless steel sieve with a 0.045 mm opening<\/strong>. This size corresponds to the 45 \u00b5m sieve used in fly ash and hydraulic cement fineness testing.<\/p>\n

EN 451-2:2017<\/strong> specifically defines wet sieving of fly ash using a 0.045 mm sieve. The standard remains current and describes this procedure as the reference method for fly ash fineness determination.<\/p>\n

Controlled Spray Nozzle<\/h2>\n

A dedicated \u00d817.5 mm spray nozzle<\/strong> directs water across the sieve surface. The nozzle contains 17 holes, each \u00d80.5 mm<\/strong>, arranged to provide controlled water distribution.<\/p>\n

Uniform spraying helps move fine particles through the sieve while reducing irregular washing caused by manual water application. This improves consistency between different tests.<\/p>\n

Water Pressure Monitoring<\/h2>\n

The apparatus includes an \u00d880 mm pressure gauge<\/strong>. The operator can monitor water pressure throughout the test and maintain the required operating condition.<\/p>\n

Stable pressure is important because excessive or insufficient water flow may influence the washing process. Therefore, laboratories should verify the pressure before each test series.<\/p>\n

Fly Ash and Hydraulic Cement Applications<\/h2>\n

For fly ash, EN 451-2:2017<\/strong> defines the wet-sieving method used to determine fineness.<\/p>\n

For hydraulic cement, ASTM C430-26<\/strong> covers determination of fineness using the 45 \u00b5m (No. 325) sieve<\/strong>. The current ASTM edition also specifies requirements for the sieve, nozzle and pressure gauge used in the test arrangement.<\/p>\n
