What Is a Digital Pull-Off Tester?<\/h1>\n

The Digital Pull-Off Tester<\/strong> measures the tensile bond strength between concrete layers and the adhesion strength of coatings applied to a substrate. The instrument applies a controlled tensile load to a metal disc bonded to the test surface.<\/p>\n

As the load increases, the digital system displays the applied force. When separation occurs, the maximum load can be used to evaluate the bond or adhesion performance of the tested system.<\/p>\n

This method is suitable for concrete surfaces, repair materials, cement render, lime plaster and other bonded construction coatings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

10 kN Load Capacity<\/h2>\n

The LT-C0180 provides a maximum load capacity of 10 kN<\/strong> and operates across a working range of 0.1 to 10 kN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This range supports routine adhesion testing on different construction materials and surface systems.<\/p>\n

The digital indication allows the operator to monitor the applied tensile force directly during the test. As a result, field and laboratory teams can follow the loading process without relying on an analog gauge.<\/p>\n

Correct alignment is important during a pull-off test. Off-axis loading can introduce bending forces and affect the result.<\/p>\n

How Is a Pull-Off Adhesion Test Performed?<\/h2>\n

Depending on the test method, the surface around the disc may be cut using a suitable drill or coring tool. This isolates the test area from the surrounding material.<\/p>\n

After the adhesive reaches sufficient strength, the tester is connected to the disc.<\/p>\n

The operator then increases the tensile load gradually and continuously. The test continues until failure occurs.<\/p>\n

The maximum load is recorded. The operator should also examine the failure location and failure mode<\/strong>, because separation may occur within the substrate, within the coating, at an interface or inside the adhesive layer.<\/p>\n

Concrete Layer Bond Testing<\/h2>\n

The Digital Pull-Off Tester can evaluate the bond between existing concrete and repair or overlay materials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This capability is useful during concrete repair projects where the new material must develop adequate adhesion to the existing substrate.<\/p>\n
